“The SR brake levers from OAK Components fit very well in the hand, feel high-quality and extremely durable and look super stylish. The specially textured surface - OAK calls this area the “grip face” - on the front of the brake levers, in the contact area of the brake fingers, provides additional grip, especially in adverse conditions (rain, mud, moisture, ... ). Here, either the skin - if you ride without gloves - or the glove grips better than on the unstructured surface of an original lever. Speaking of the original lever, in comparison the OAK SR lever is noticeably firmer in the hand, or in the brake fingers. After riding a few times with the OAK Components levers, I would say that I prefer them to the original parts. They fit my braking finger well and the small dimples seem to improve the grip slightly. The levers are an improvement on the standard equipment.
At 20 grams, the OAK brake lever weighs a little more, but also looks significantly more solid in direct comparison. The edges from CNC milling reflect the light and give the OAK lever a very special look. If you like colour, you should definitely take a look at these levers!

The tolerance is too big and the barrel nut of the lever spins inside the lever blade. I had to drill the lever out of the master cylinder because I couldn’t loosen the lever mounting bolts. Now my brake master cylinder is toast and I can’t mount the original lever back..
Machining quality is good. I followed install instructions carefully and that was pretty straight forward. I was careful not to collapse anything. The little divots are very grippy on your finger tip. I can’t say they made my Cascade North Fork Calipers feel stronger but the lever is slightly longer, maybe 5-6mm which allowed me to move my brake levers in board on my bar. That allowed me to have more clearance to my shifter so that’s a win right there.
Would buy again should they become damaged.

Bedankt Oak components
Als ich die Montageanleitung das erste Mal durchgelesen hatte (was man vorab komplett tun sollte!) war ich erst etwas skeptisch, ob ich das gemeistert bekomme. Aber mit etwas Geduld und etwas Fingerspitzengefühl war es dank der ausführlichen Beschreibung kein Problem. Ich habe für beide Hebel zusammen ca. 45min benötigt, hatte mir aber auch viel Zeit und Ruhe dafür genommen.
Das Ergebnis sieht aber echt genial aus!
